Hiccup let out a groan with frustration. "I didn't-you-gah!" Hiccup dashed to Mavis's side, ignoring Pitch and taking her hand. "Mavis sweetheart i'm not mad. It's not your fault. It's alright. It'll be great."

"You didn't do anything," she whispered, "but you two ate fighting and he's hurting you and your hurting him and I love you both!M" she was sobbing.

Hiccup pulled her into his arms and held her, looking to Pitch he sighed. "I'm not going to fight you sir. For Mavis's sake. But you need to accept the decisions she's made."

Mavis cried against his shoulder and pitch rethought the decisions he had made. "You are really good with her," he whispered sadly.

Hiccup nodded. 'I. Love. Her. And you do too. I want you to be part of Mavis's life as well as the kids. To do that we need to simmer down." Hiccup looked down at Mavis before returning Pitch's gaze. "I'm sorry if I offended you earlier."

Hiccup held out his hand slightly. "Wait, don't go." Hiccup pulled himself from Mavis. "Mavis, don't let what happened ruin things with your father." he helped her to her feet.

"Babe!" She whined, reaching for him t hold her again. The desperation in her tone made Pitch laugh. "Oh Mavis! How adorable. Your mother used to do that."

Hiccup paused at the mention of Mavis's mother. Reality dawned on him, remembering how he had murdered her right in front of Mavis. He wan't sure how to respond to that. He held Mavis and waited for her to say something.

"Don't you talk about mom," she hissed, looking sad, the images filling her mind again. She looked suddenly ill, turning away from both of them so they wouldn't see.

Hiccup for the millionth time, had nothing to say. All he really could think to do was hold Mavis, letting her bury her face in his chest.

She screamed in frustration and grabbed a rock from the ground, throwing it at Pitch who looked shocked. He managed to dodge it. "Mavis.." He whispered. "I'm so sorry.." She just shook her head, looking at Hiccup. She sniffled. "Sorry. I emotional."

Hiccup forced himself not to laugh at Mavis's last comment. Things were getting out of control fast. He held her arm to hold her back. "Mavis..." there was nothing to say.

Mavis resisted the urge to run, completely embarrassed by her actions. She went dead silent, looking to the ground.
Pitch sighed, looking at Hiccup. "I would shake your hand but I won't make that mistake again."
