"Did you ever think this is why you weren't told dear?" Pitch asked, trying to reason with his daughter but Mavis didnt back down.

Rapunzel curled her lip; Pitch's hand the only thing keeping her from storming off. "Mavis that's horrible. He's your dad! And I am grown. Grown enough to make my own decisions and decide who I want to be with."

Pitch had heard enough. He reached over and back handed Mavis, which quickly shut her up.

Mavis said nothing, only shifted back into a rat and scampered off.

Pitch cupped her face. "It's not your fault. She shouldn't have acted like that or said the things she did. I'm actually very proud of you." He kissed her forehead, pulling her closer. 'You defended us and the way we feel instead of just hiding behind me."

He looked slightly shocked. "Adorable? There's a new one. I can't say I've ever been called adorable before. Probably because if it was anyone but you who said it I would kill them on the spot." He pondered the thought for a moment before he smiled. "It'll be our little secret.
