Rapunzel sat on the bench in the DarkSide of town. Occasionally she came here to explore, relax, or meet someone new. Although she wasn't entirely sure the kind of people who hung around here were the right type to hang around. An empty space sat beside her on the bench. She had half wished she had invited Hiccup, but seeing him with Mavis Rapunzel got the hint they needed to be alone.

Pitch was walking on the trail when the color yellow caught his eye. When he realized it was a girl, he approached her slowly. "Is this seat taken?" He asked in his silky tone.

Rapunzel looked up, eyeing Pitch curiously. She noticed he was handsome but also mysterious. Rapunzel shrugged, gesturing to the seat beside her. "Go ahead."

He tilted his head after sitting beside her. He studied her for a moment before saying, "you look to be around my daughters age. How old are you?"

Rapunzel was alarmed by the sound of this. She hadn't expected him to be old enough to be her father, especially after she was admiring him. "19."

Rapunzel shook her head, turning away to hide her embarrassed blush. "N-No i'm fine. So you've got a daughter huh? Are you married?"

"I was. She died." He shrugged at the simple fact. "But yes. I have a daughter. Her name is Mavis. I lost track of her some time ago."

(I literally didn't know this till now and just screamed)
Rapunzel paled. She'd remembered Hiccup's girlfriend being named Mavis. Did she know her father was here and simply avoided him? Was there a reason for it? She gulped, overwhelmed by the situation. "So, how did you l-lose track of her?"

"I killed her mother," he said simply, shrugging as if it were no big deal. "I know she followed me here but I've yet to see her. Jack told me she's in love. She better bot be. I'm still her father and I'm not going to lose her to anyone." He sounded sad.

Rapunzel opened her mouth in horror. She felt sick to her stomach, almost like she was going to throw up. "W-What would you do to the boy if she was in love?" Rapunzel paid no attention to his apparent dismay. Hiccup's life could possibly be on the line.

Rapunzel was slightly relaxed from this, but still couldn't stomach the idea of a man so casually mentioning murdering his own wife. "H-How could you want happiness for her after doing something as horrible as killing her mother? Your wife!"

"Because she isn't me. She doesn't deserve to be alone. It isn't her fault I went mad." Pitch put a hand on Rapunzels shoulder. "It's not often I get to talk to people. If I've offended you I do apologize but thank you for listening.

Rapunzel choked back her confusion. She looked up at Pitch. He legitimately looked miserable. She felt a pang of sympathy. Rapunzel had done horrible things in her fits of madness too. Was it Discord that drove him to do it? "I...If I told you I knew where your daughter was, would you understand if I was hesitant to tell you?"
